BE RECORDED AMONGST THOSE WHO RECIEVE HUGE REWARDS.
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As:
The Prophet (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam ) said: If anyone prays at night reciting regularly ten verses, he will not be recorded among the negligent;
if anyone prays at night and recites a hundred verses, he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allaah;
and if anyone prays at night reciting one thousand verses, he will be recorded among those who receive huge rewards.
(Abu Dawood Book #6, Hadith #1393)
WHO COULD RECITE A THOUSAND VERSES?
The Prophet Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam said,
‘Whoever recited 1000 verses in one night would meet Allaah with a smile on his face’.
Someone said, ‘O Apostle, who can recite a thousand verses?’.
The Prophet Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam then recited Surah at Takathur (Chapter 102) and then said,
‘By He in Whose hand my soul is, it is equal to a 1000 verses’ (Dailami in Fath al Qadir 5/487)
Abdullaah ibn Umar (RA) narrated that Allaah’s Messenger (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) said, “Can one of you not recite a thousand verses daily?” Then when he was asked who could recite a thousand verses daily he replied, “Can one of you not recite ‘Rivalry has distracted you’ (‘Al-haakumut takaathur’)”?” (Tirmidhi 2184 Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shu’ab al-Iman)
BETTER THAN A THOUSAND VERSES!!
Narrated ‘Irbaadh bin Saariyah (R.A.):
The Apostle of Allaah (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) used to recite al-Musabbihat (Surah Hadeed, Surah Hashar, Surah Saff, Surah Jumu’ah and Surah Taghaabun) before going to sleep, and say: They contain a verse which is better than a thousand verses. (Abu Dawood Book #41, Hadith #5039)
The verse refered is ”
هُوَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُ وَٱلۡأَخِرُ وَٱلظَّـٰهِرُ وَٱلۡبَاطِنُۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ
huwal awwalu wal aakhiru waZ Zaahiru wal baaTinu wa huwa bi-kulli shay-in ‘Aleem.
He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward; and He is Knower of all things (57.3)
and Allah knows best
this is according to (Tafsir ibn kathir)
(Tafseerul Qur’anil ‘Azeem, Vol. 4, Page 385)
Narrated Hudhaifa: Allaah’s Apostle (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) said to us,
“Honesty descended from the Heavens and settled in the roots of the hearts of men (faithful believers), and then the Quran was revealed and the people read the Quran, (and learnt it from it) and also learnt it from the Sunnah.” Both Quran and Sunnah strengthened their (the faithful believers’) Honesty. (See Hadith No. 208) (Bukhari Book #92, Hadith #381)
It (Qur’ân) is indeed a Message of remembrance. Therefore let who ever will, keep it in remembrance. It is in Books held (greatly) in honor, exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy.” (80:11-14)
